Please try the following:

Edit /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf, in the protocol pop3 section, add a
pop3_uidl_format line so it looks like this

   protocol pop3 {
     pop3_uidl_format = %08Xu%08Xv
   }

then restart dovecot

   /etc/init.d/dovecot restart
