Hello. I have looked in the archives and can not find much on this topic. I have had vPostMaster running for a year or two and have used it mainly for sending mail for another (work) email address due to trouble with the work server having trouble when I send attachments. Since getting it up and running, I really have had no issues and no complaints.

However, we want to start using the domain that vPostmaster is hosting more extensively and just today ran into a problem. We got about 10 of these today when sending to various domains (i modified the actual domain names and email addresses to protect the innocent):

This is the vPostMaster program at host mail.holaxxxxly.com.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be

From what I can understand, it seems to be a lookup problem with looking up the DNS record of the recipients...but I am quite a newbie to this stuff and need some help figuring out what to do. I have been think that I need to change some settings...but am not too sure where to start. My best thought so far is to see if /etc/postfix/main.cf exists and, if so, to set disable_dns_lookups = no. But I am not even sure that would help.

Any advice, written as simply and in plain English as possible would be appreciated.

John.
