I restored from backups and removed all configuration changes I made, 
but now dovecot wont start because the dovecot.conf config file that i 
used to use is apparently depreciated, where can I get a fresh one for 
vpostmaster?

fyi it says this:

setting: imap_listen
then when i comment out those lines it says:
