I haven't really used any of them directly, but I've heard good things about
CloudMark, MXLogic, and Postini. Postini I am most familiar with, it has a
web interface for management of user accounts and settings, and you list them
as your primary MX, then they pass along e-mail to your servers once it's scanned.
You say that your system can't keep up with SpamAssassin -- another thing to
consider is upgrading the hardware. Depending on how many user accounts you
have, the pricing may be similar over a year or two, possibly even cheaper.
You can get a pretty powerful machine, in rackmount trim, for around $1200
these days.
For the record, for our 7 people we have a dual core 3.4GHz P4 system with 4GB
of RAM and it performs well. We recently took it from 2GB to 4GB because 2GB
just wasn't enough. SpamAssassin really uses the RAM when you really get hit
with a lot of spam. Our mail system currently says 3.4GB free (1.8GB
completely unused), so it's really only during the spikes that we need the
extra RAM. But this system does little other than e-mail.
