I curently no longer use debian
Will the vpostmaster soon run on ubuntu?

Yes, it would be possible.  You would have to build a signup page that
created the accounts in vPostMaster, probably the easiest way would be
to have your signup web page call the "vpmuser" command-line program to
create the user.  See the manual page for more information on how to use
"vpmuser".
