The following is the "README.mailman" file which is included in vPostMaster
pro:
Using Mailman under vPostMaster.
vPostMaster includes Mailman integration as of version 2.00.
For this to work, you will need to have installed Mailman on the system you
are running vPostMaster from. It is recommended that you install from
packages available from your system, for example by running (on RPM-based
distros) "yum install mailman", or on Debian-based systems using "apt-get
install mailman".
SETUP
You also should set up a site list by running "newlist Mailman", and
setting up the site-wide administration password with "mmsitepass".
These programs probably exist in the directory "/usr/lib/mailman/bin",
and you may need to specify the full path to the programs to run them.
LIST CREATION
In the system menu is a new sub-menu for "Mailing Lists". This allows
you to create new mailing lists, and delete existing mailing lists.
You cannot delete the "Mailman" mailing list, because it is a special
list for the mailman system.
LIST USERS
Once you create a list, you need to hook it up to a vPostMaster user.
You connect it to Mailman by listing "@mailman@" in the forward file.
Note that "@mailman@" forwards mail to the Mailman list with the same
name as the user the the forwarding is created in. If the list is named
differently than the user, you can specify the Mailman list name with
"@mailman:listname@" in the forward field.
Normally, you would create the user name to be the same as the list
name.
Note that a benefit of this configuration is that you can use the list
user anti-spam and anti-virus settings as well as black/white list
entries to protect your Mailman lists.
Normally you would want to disable local delivery, but you certainly can
also do local delivery if you want copies you can verify via IMAP/POP.
Note that this uses the domain extension character for the handling of
extensions such as "subscribe", "owner", etc...
Thanks,
Sean
